CLIENT: City of Eastland and TxDOT Aviation
LOCATION: Eastland, TX

In 2010, eHT designed and supervised construction of $1.3M TxDOT Aviation project, which consisted of a 980-foot pavement extension to Runway 17 with turnaround, rehabilitation and striping of all airfield pavements, additional perimeter fencing, along with construction of a south access gravel roadway with two cattle guards, and reconstruction of the west T-hangar taxilanes, and other drainage and electrical improvements. These drainage improvements included 360 linear feet of two 2’ x 8’ box culverts, several trapezoidal channels and corrugated metal culverts under roadways, reinforced concrete pipe under taxiways, reinforced concrete pipe arch, 14 concrete headwalls, and two concrete low-water crossings. The electrical improvements included relocation of the existing wind cone, installation of a new internally-lighted LED wind cone mast, medium intensity runway lights (MIRL) for the Runway 17 extension area, which included runway end lights and runway edge lights, displaced threshold lights and inset pavement lights and the relocation of the RW 35 PAPI-2L system. The Project also included crack repair and sealing, coal tar sealing, and marking and striping of all airfield pavements. eHT also prepared the Airport Layout Plan.
