Abilene Regional Airport Terminal Area Parking Improvements

CLIENT: City of Abilene

eHT provided design, surveying, geotechnical and construction materials testing, project management and construction management for the Abilene Regional Airport renovation and expansion project. Services included roadway relocation, including terminal area parking access roads and drop-off areas; parking lot expansion to double the current capacity; improving the parking control system and entrance/exit gates; modifying payout/exit areas; adding the security system; adding the parking lot cover; re-landscaping and irrigation layout; installing a new 280 square foot security building; re-routing existing drainage; re-routing 700 feet of water line; and building a satellite parking area.

eHT also designed and administered the Terminal Area Parking Improvements Project for Abilene Regional Airport.  This project involved multiple layers of design, including stormwater drainage improvements. The drainage related portions of the project also took into consideration several of the design recommendations found in the Master Plan.  The drainage improvements included the design of a large curb inlet, concrete lined drainage channel designed to re-route stormwater around the perimeter of the parking area, existing culvert/drain pipe extension and several surface drainage structures, including valley gutters and surface drainage swales.
