Internships
eHT is looking for dedicated, hard-working engineering students to join our internship program in the Summer in Abilene, Texas. Our program offers hands-on experience on a variety of projects. eHT is excited to help you begin your professional career. Position requirements include a BS degree, Texas PE or EIT registration and minimum of 3 years of experience in the design of water and wastewater treatment plant improvement projects. This person must possess excellent design and communication skills. The ideal candidate is a fully competent engineer and must evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques. Experience should include facility evaluation, planning, permitting, preliminary and final design and construction administration for water and wastewater facilities. Public utility system experience required.
Requirements include a BS degree, PE or EIT registration and minimum 3 years of experience in civil engineering design and project management. Position will include design and construction related to municipal street, water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
Position requirements include a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Texas PE registration and minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design of water and wastewater related public works improvement projects. This person must possess excellent design and communication skills. The ideal candidate is a fully competent engineer and must evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques. Experience should include cost estimates, calculations, drawings, specifications for electrical power, lighting, fire and construction phase services including shop drawing/submittal review, RFI responses, site visits and punch lists. This position will work alongside water and wastewater design professionals on a variety of public and private infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities will include working closely with other engineers and designers in the development and oversight of engineering design projects for water and wastewater facilities. Candidates will be responsible for the design of power distribution systems, instrumentation and controls, standby generators and automatic transfer systems, SCADA and telemetry systems, lighting systems, and development of load and fault current calculations, power flow models, and short circuit analysis.
Candidates will be required to manage and oversee the development of technical plans and specifications, ensure NEC code compliance, and routinely coordinate with client and other disciplines in support of project completion.
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering with P.E. registration in Texas; if licensed outside the State, candidate must be licensed by exam.
- Possess a solid background in electrical power distribution and control systems design and clear understanding of the National Electrical Code.
- Minimum 10 years of recent experience in municipal water and wastewater facilities.
- SCADA experience a plus.
- Experience performing electrical short-circuit analysis and coordination studies using ETAP, SKM Systems Analysis, Inc., or similar modeling software a plus.
- Experience using AutoCAD.
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects.
- Solid verbal communications skills and the desire to support the firm’s marketing efforts in the water/wastewater industry.
eHT is seeking an Operations Specialist with strong operational experience in water and wastewater treatment facility operation. The best qualified individual for this position will have a combination of experience with activated sludge process control, conventional water treatment plant operation, and expertise with membrane treatment in water and wastewater applications. The best qualified individual for this position will be a licensed operator with a minimum of five years of progressive operational experience. The individual best qualified for this role will be one who enjoys operating treatment systems and enjoys the challenge of positively finding solutions to difficult problems. The best qualified individual will be one who as an operator takes pride in operating an efficient and well-kept plant to produce the highest quality treated water in the most economical manner possible. Education is important to successfully develop in the role with eHT but operational experience combined with a positive and gregarious outlook is most important. In addition to these qualifications, a proven track record as a team or project leader, documented ability to develop and identify best practices, and a history of supporting a quality customer experience are strongly preferred.
We are seeking an Remediation Technician to provide support on various environmental projects primarily in the West Texas area. This person will be responsible for operation and maintenance of remediation systems and a wide variety of environmental field activities. Candidate must be highly motivated; customer focused and work well in a team environment. Candidate must also have the ability to manage workload, travel, and be on-call as needed.
Your Role:
- Installation, operation, troubleshooting, repair and upgrade of environmental remediation systems and associated controls, mechanical devices, and telemetry.
- Soil sampling activities.
- Groundwater sampling activities.
- Completion of detailed field notes, daily reports, forms and checklists.
- Health and Safety assessments and audits of project sites and teams.
- Quality, Health and Safety oversight of sub contractors.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required plus 2-5 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
- 2-5 years of proven experience performing environmental investigations and installation, operation, troubleshooting, repair and upgrade of environmental remediation systems and associated controls, mechanical devices, and telemetry.
- OSHA 40 Hours HAZWOPER Certified.
- Experience in environmental consulting or related experience preferred.
- Applicants should be fluent in the English language and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Applicants should possess basic computer skills, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
- Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Mechanically minded & able to analyze basic plumbing piping and valving requirements.

Professional Engineer (PE) currently licensed in the State of Texas and in good standing with the TBPELS with a degree in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience performing environmental remediation engineering activities at LPST sites. Preferred candidate will have experience working with regulatory agencies to investigate, assess, and design methods to cleanup leaking petroleum storage tank and/or hazardous waste sites. Three years of direct experience in TCEQ LPST rules or an equivalent program will be a plus. Additional expertise in the design and construction of water and wastewater systems for municipal and industrial clients is a plus. A native to or having lived in West Texas is another plus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering or other closely related engineering field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) with ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license within the year
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering and environmental experience
- Proficient in the Microsoft Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience using AutoCAD
- Professional on-the-job experience related to planning, design, construction, and operation of environmental remedial system
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with various media (e.g., soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water and sediment) investigations, data assessments/evaluations, and remediation technologies
- 40-hr HAZWOPER certification with annual 8-hr Refreshers or the ability to attain this certification
- Demonstrated working knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations, including the TCEQ LPST or other equivalent program
- Professional on-the-job experience related to performing and leading environmental field work for site characterization and remediation projects, and an understanding of methodology and procedures
- Experience working on active project sites and overseeing subcontractors
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills
- Strong attention to detail when conducting field work and evaluating data
- Ability to communicate concisely and proactively with coworkers, contractors, and clients
Responsibilities:
- Based in Lubbock, you’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects across the West Texas region and statewide
- Participate in a variety of office and field tasks related to planning, evaluating, and implementing environmental investigation and remediation projects
- Apply technical experience in the design and operation of environmental remedial systems with the support of our remedial technology team
- Effectively evaluate and lead preparation of technical documents, drawings, specifications, and proposals
- Project management and oversight of technical issues/work products; budgeting and budget management; adherence to schedule, quality, health, and safety protocols; client satisfaction; and profitability
- Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties
- Provide Project Level oversight to Staff based on experience and expertise
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively to handle multiple projects
- Travel as needed, which may be as much as 20% at times in the field supporting or overseeing site characterization and remediation work
