City of Albany Water Treatment Plant

CLIENT: City of Albany
LOCATION: Albany, TXeHT conducted a pilot study for an ultrafiltration membrane system for the City of Albany. The pilot study evaluated two sources of water, both in the Brazos River Basin, including pretreatment evaluation and foulant studies. eHT completed the design of a new 2.5 MGD membrane water treatment facility and developed cost estimates and value analyses. eHT also modeled the water quality for process performance. Under the USDA RD funding program, eHT provided planning, design, and construction administration services for the new 2.5 MGD water treatment plant. The design incorporated a traditional solids contact clarifier with membrane filtration. Trihalomethanes (THM) and Haloacetic Acid (HAA5) compliance is achieved using a combination of chlorine dioxide and chloramination. SCADA-integrated process controls were designed and implemented to meet primary drinking water standards.
