The City of Granbury increased the potable water transmission capacity from the BRA’s SWATS water treatment plant to 3.0 MGD. As a part of the transmission project, a new 500,000-gallon elevated water storage tank was constructed featuring composite construction, using concrete for the tank column and welded steel for the bowl. This tank was also the first tank to utilize Tnemec’s “Hydroflon” coating system. Later, a second 500,000-gallon composite elevated water storage tank, 500,000-gallon ground storage tank and pump station were constructed for the City to accommodate the commercial and residential growth.
