eHT provided application assistance, project management and design for the replacement of the deteriorated 6-inch PVC (CL100) line that experienced multiple leaks over previous years (losses from 1 to 8 million gallons per year) which was installed in the early 1970s from the well field to the elevated water storage tank (~18,000 feet). It was replaced with a new 8-inch C900 PVC line. The water system operating pressure was 55 psi. The southwest area of the City had pressures in the system below 35 psi during fire flow situations. To stabilize the water pressure in the southwest area of the City during times of high demand, a standpipe was installed to maintain the water system’s pressure above 40 psi in that quadrant of the City. The project utilized funding from the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) and the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.
