eHT secured a $150,000 grant on behalf of the City of Roma from the Texas Water Development Board to complete a regional planning study that included the City of Roma, El Sauz Water WSC, El Tanque WSC, Falcon Rural WSC and Rio WSC. The study examined the various alternatives and associated costs for the City of Roma to provide treated water to one or more of the participating entities. A total of 16 alternatives were examined including an in-depth analysis for the location and type of new water treatment plant to be constructed by the City of Roma.
The study also evaluated the water supply and distribution, storage and pumping facilities required for the City of Roma to adequately serve each of the participants. To Augment the planning process and system evaluation, eHT has developed several hydraulic computer models using both Bentley System’s WaterCAD platform and Innovyze’s (formerly MWH Soft) H20Map Water GIS Suite for both water distribution and wastewater collection applications. The computer models are an essential tool assisting in the design and analysis processes as the City’s utility systems are further expanded and upsized to serve additional areas.
