Lake Arrowhead State Park WWTP

CLIENT: Texas Parks & Wildlife Department
LOCATION: Wichita Falls, TX

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) responded to a Notice of Violation (NOV) issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) as a result of a Comprehensive Compliance Investigation (CCI) of the wastewater treatment plant facility (WWTP) at the Lake Arrowhead State Park. eHT was retained by TPWD to design and prepare construction documents for capital improvements to the WWTP. eHT completed a minor permit amendment to reduce the average daily permitted flow from 20,000 gallons per day (gpd) to 10,000 gpd. The adjustment was more appropriate for the facility and helped to minimize construction costs of the new infrastructure. The project included construction of a new lined irrigation holding pond sized for 10,000 gpd. eHT developed a Closure Plan for the existing unlined irrigation storage pond and designed permanent irrigation infrastructure including pump, piping and center pivot irrigators. eHT provided design changes for the existing effluent/outlet structure and provided design for the installation of a permanent flow measurement device. eHT also assessed potential Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) sources and designed some improvements to stem the I&I.
